Trouble with my motor, fishing outing ruined
Had a day of drop shot drifting for big smallmouth bass planned. My buddy got a head start, he was supposed to pick me up at the marina at about 10:30 AM. As I'm unloading the car, I see him being towed into the marina by another boat. Looks like the thermostat / water pump decided to die on us, the motor apparently started smoking and shut dowm. Thankfully, he didn't try to motor back with it, the damage appears to be "minor" at this point. It will still run us a few hundred after labor, hope to have the boat ready by mid next week. Needless to say, the outing was ruined. We attempted to shore fish with the big minnows further down at the Long Sault area, we got skunked. Big let down, the wind and weather would have been perfect for drift fishing.
